Dads Socks

Hubby is still sleeping so I decided to surf...well, what do you think of my new weather pixie?
Reminds me of the days when I used to dye parts of my hair purple..lol.

Ok, back to dads socks. I'm really enjoying the colors, but these socks say fall to me. Oh well, dad will love them. Here is a picture of the second sock, almost there. I plan on getting it finished today sometime. It's kinda hard getting a project done when there are so many other projects to start..lol.

I also plan on dying some merino fiber, get my Knitting Olympic project picked out and search for all the odds and sods needed to make it. And of course I need to join it...Haven't even done that yet. Yes all that today....I hope..

Now whats for dinner?

Knitting Olympics

I am absolutely sick as a dog today. I have been poorly for 3 days and it hit me like a ton of bricks today. Tonsillitis not fun and extremely painful, t3 didnt help the pain, and neither did Tramadol, but good ole Ibp 800 and antibiotics to the rescue. ohhhh I hope I'm better tomorrow, I HATE being ill.

I have been reading other posts and found out that many people are trying out for the knitting Olympics. Sounds interesting and fun, I believe I'll join. But what to make...I won't sign-up until I figure out what I'm going to make. It's a toss-up between socks or felted clogs or Maybe even something from my new book I got for christmas from hubby..A second Treasury of Magical Knitting by Cat Bordhi.

Well time for a lay down or maybe a little time for knittng on dads socks, or maybe both.

Introduction

Well here I am. Just starting a blog for the first time.
A little about myself...I enjoy spinning fiber, knitting, gardening, wine making, and of course playing xbox360 and computer games. I am married to a wonderful man , Andrew, and we have 4 cats, Saffy the albino, Basil the tuxedo, Tigerlily the tabby, and Moon the siamese.
My most recent project, I'm making a pair of socks for my dad. I have dyed a superwash merino roving with these fab colors, cranberry, cocoa, tan, and orange. My father loved the colors but I didn't tell him it was for him...HEHE.
I spent a few days spinning the fiber (on my Majacraft Rose) into a lovey 2ply sock yarn. Well the socks never did get done for Christmas, so I had to take pictures of the progress, put them in a card and tell him Merry Chrismas. I felt so bad that I bought him a beautiful lined shirt to go with his pictures..lol. I planned on getting them done when I got back from England, but here I am one week back and only half a sock done.
